Product Details

01 Details

Build your bed around the way you sleep. Every piece is cut from the same 100% French flax linen, with the breathable feel, natural texture, and relaxed drape that run through the whole collection. Choose each piece on its own, or complete the look as a set. Every set pairs its main piece with two matching pillowcases.

Fitted Sheet Set
One fitted sheet and two pillowcases.
Flat Sheet Set
One flat sheet and two pillowcases.
Duvet Cover Set
One duvet cover and two pillowcases.

Single sizes include one pillowcase.

02 Material

Every piece is woven from 100% pure French flax linen, a renewable natural fibre grown in the flax fields of Western Europe and cultivated naturally, without insecticides, pesticides or chemical fertilisers.

Flax leaves little behind. From fibre to seed the whole plant is used, with virtually no waste. The result is fully biodegradable bedding made from 100% natural fibres, a quiet, lower-impact choice for a more restful home.

03 Key Features

Woven at 180 GSM, above the industry average, this is a substantial, closely woven linen. A higher weight is one of the clearest signs of quality. It keeps the fabric soft to the touch while making it stronger and more durable, so your bedding is made to last for years to come.

French flax naturally lets air circulate, releasing excess warmth and moisture to stay comfortable across the seasons, and it only relaxes and softens with regular use and washing.

04 Care

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with a neutral liquid detergent. Wash with similar colours. Do not bleach. Line dry, or tumble dry low and remove while still slightly damp to reduce creasing. Do not dry clean.

Linen's natural texture does not need to be pressed flat. Folding each piece once it is fully dry helps preserve its easy drape and keeps your bedding ready for the next use.

The Linen Experience

Folded natural French flax linen with wooden buttons, a linen drawstring bag and dried flax seed stems

100% French Flax

Natural & Sustainable

Made only from 100% pure French flax linen, a renewable plant fibre grown without insecticides, pesticides or chemical fertilisers. Flax needs far less water than cotton, and every part of the plant is put to use, from fibre to flax seed, leaving virtually nothing behind.

Fully biodegradable and woven from 100% natural fibres, it is a quieter, lower-impact way to make the bed. Comfort that rests as lightly on the planet as it does on you.

Renewable Fibre No Pesticides Biodegradable

Premium Quality Linen

Woven at 180 GSM

Our linen is woven entirely from French flax at 180 GSM, a weight above the industry average. Fabric weight is one of the clearest indicators of linen quality: a higher GSM means a fuller, more substantial cloth that is soft to the touch yet remarkably strong.

Flax is among the strongest natural plant fibres, prized for the way it holds its structure year after year. With proper care, these sheets are made to last for decades to come, softening, never thinning.

One Linen, Three Sets

Choose How You Sleep

The collection comes as three considered sets: a fitted sheet set, a flat sheet set and a duvet cover set. Each pairs its main piece with two matching pillowcases, so every layer arrives ready to use. Single sizes include one pillowcase.

Start with the set that matches the way you make your bed, or layer all three for the complete linen experience. Every set is cut from the same 100% French flax, so each piece pairs naturally with the next.

Designed to Work for All Seasons

Natural flax sits in a quiet middle ground. Light without feeling thin, absorbent without clinging, cool in summer and tempered in winter. One set of bedding, every season.

From the Journal

Is Linen Bedding Good for Winter?

Linen is often associated with summer, but many sleepers enjoy it throughout winter. The key is understanding what linen does well. It does not create warmth like wool. Instead, it manages moisture, reduces clamminess, and works with the right duvet to keep a heated winter bed comfortable throughout the night.

Linen Questions, Answered

How is linen different from cotton sheets?

Cotton is smooth and crisp from the first night. Linen is woven from flax, a longer and stronger fibre in a more open weave, so it moves air and moisture more freely and has a dry, textured hand rather than a slippery one. It creases instead of holding a pressed finish, and it softens with every wash rather than wearing smooth. If you sleep warm, or you prefer a relaxed natural bed to a hotel-crisp one, linen is the better choice. The full comparison is in our guide to linen versus cotton sheets.

What does 180 GSM mean, and why does the weight matter?

GSM is grams per square metre, the weight of the cloth, and for linen it plays the role that momme plays for silk. Light linen, around 140 to 160 GSM, feels airy on day one but turns thin and sheer within a year or two of weekly washing. Sensoire linen is woven at 180 GSM, above the industry average and at the weight experienced linen buyers ask for by name. It is substantial without being heavy, closely woven enough to resist thinning, and still soft to the touch.

Is it 100% linen, and where does the flax come from?

Every piece is 100% French flax linen: not a linen and cotton blend, and not a linen-rich fabric. The flax is grown in the flax fields of Western Europe, home of the world's finest long-fibre flax, without insecticides, pesticides or chemical fertilisers. The cloth carries three independent marks: European Flax, Masters of Linen and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. If you would like to see the certificates, write to contact@sensoire.com and the team will send them to you.

Is the linen pre-washed, and does that weaken the fabric?

Yes. Every piece is washed in plain water and pre-shrunk before it reaches you, with no stones and no chemical softeners. That is why the first night is soft rather than the tenth, and why the sizes stay true after your own washes. Water simply relaxes the natural pectin that holds new flax fibres stiff; it does not cut or thin the fibre. And because the cloth is woven at 180 GSM, the weight is all still there after washing: the softness of a washed linen with the body of a heavyweight one.

How long will linen bedding last?

Years, and it improves through them. Flax is one of the strongest natural fibres, and at 180 GSM there is enough of it in the cloth to soften with every wash without thinning. Two habits stretch that further: rotate two sets so each is slept on and washed half as often, and keep linen away from dry heat, because flax is strongest when damp. Should anything be wrong with the quality of your bedding, we exchange or refund it free of charge within 14 days.

Is linen good for hot sleepers and night sweats?

It is the fibre hot sleepers most often end up with. Flax has an open weave and takes up moisture readily, then releases it fast, so the sheet stays dry against the skin instead of clammy. One detail people rarely expect: the duvet cover matters as much as the sheet. Heat and moisture from the duvet have to pass through the cover to leave the bed, so a breathable linen cover makes the same duvet feel noticeably cooler. If you can only change one layer, change the duvet cover. See our edit for hot sleepers.

Is it suitable during menopause and hot flushes?

Hot flushes and night sweats are common through menopause. Bedding cannot change the cause, but it can change how the night feels. Linen moves warmth and moisture away from the skin quickly and dries fast, so a flush is far less likely to leave you soaked and awake, and the bed is dry again by the time you settle. Our menopause and night sweats edit pairs linen with silk for exactly these nights.

Will it feel scratchy at first?

New linen has a crispness that some people read as scratchy, and unwashed linen can genuinely feel that way for a dozen washes. Ours is washed in plain water before it reaches you, so the first night is soft, with a dry, textured hand rather than a slippery one, and every wash after that relaxes it further. No fabric softener is needed; use and washing do the work. If you are unsure, start with a single pillowcase, sold on its own: a week under your cheek tells you more than any description.

Is 180 GSM too warm for summer, and is linen warm enough for winter?

Weight is not warmth in linen. Breathability comes from the fibre and the open weave, not the grammage, so a 180 GSM sheet still moves air freely on a hot night; what the extra weight buys is durability and drape. In winter, linen keeps the bed dry while the duvet supplies the warmth. It can feel cool for the first minute, then settles to your skin temperature. Linen suits the same bed all year: change the duvet inside the cover, not the cover. More in our guide to four-season linen.

Is the better sleep claim real, or just marketing?

It is physics, not marketing. What linen changes is how quickly heat and moisture leave the layer against your skin, and that is exactly what wakes a warm sleeper: the damp patch, the duvet thrown off, pulled back an hour later. Linen keeps that layer dry and light through the night, so the bed feels the same at four in the morning as it did at eleven. The easiest proof is one night in it. Our guide on how linen helps you sleep goes through the detail.

How should I wash linen bedding, and at what temperature?

Wash it once before first use, then every one to two weeks: linen moves moisture away and dries fast, so it stays fresh longer than cotton and does not need hot water to feel clean. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with a neutral liquid detergent, similar colours together, covers inside out with the buttons closed, and a low spin. Strongly alkaline powders roughen the hand of flax and chlorine bleach damages it, so use neither, and never wring linen. Treat stains before drying, as heat sets them. Full details are in our linen care guide.

Should I tumble dry or line dry?

Line dry, in the shade or in light sun; hours of strong sunlight will fade colour. Linen dries fast, so spread it over a line or rack with the hems open and it is ready the same day. If you must use a tumble dryer, choose the lowest heat, keep it brief, and take the linen out while still slightly damp, because flax is strongest wet and dislikes dry heat. Shake each piece open and let it finish on the bed or a rack.

Will it shrink, and will the fitted sheet still fit my mattress?

The cloth is washed and pre-shrunk before it reaches you, so a cool wash and gentle drying keep the fit true. The fitted sheet suits mattresses up to 40 cm deep. If it feels tighter after a wash, let it dry fully and check that the elastic has not twisted before assuming the sheet has shrunk; dry heat, not washing, is what causes real shrinkage. Pillowcases in our sets come in nine sizes from 40 x 40 to 80 x 80 cm, chosen when you order, so French and German pillow formats are both covered.

Do I need to iron linen, and how do I keep creases soft?

No. Washed linen carries a soft natural crumple, and the finer the linen, the more refined that crease looks: it is the texture of the cloth, not a fault, and a pressed finish was never the point. To keep creases soft rather than sharp, do not overload the machine, use a low spin, unload as soon as the cycle ends, shake each piece open, then dry it loose and fold only once fully dry. If you want a smoother surface for an occasion, iron while still slightly damp at no more than 110°C.

How do I make linen last, and how should I store it?

Rotate two sets so each is slept on and washed half as often, and turn the fitted sheet head to foot now and then. Keep the load kind: buttons closed, covers inside out, no zips, hooks or towels in the same wash, a low spin, and no dry heat. The small knots you may notice along the yarn are slubs, the natural signature of long-fibre flax, not a fault and not pilling; leave them be. To store, fold it and keep it in a breathable cotton bag: flax naturally resists damp and mildew, so it keeps well even in a humid room.
