Pure Grade 6A Mulberry Silk on Both Faces

Every mask is Grade 6A long-strand mulberry silk on both faces, woven at 19 momme for a light, breathable feel. Inside is a soft silk floss fill, and the 3D styles add moulded cups that hold their shape over the eyes, so the delicate skin around your eyes only ever touches silk.

02

A True Blackout for Deeper Sleep

The seal closes the gaps at the nose and cheekbones where light slips in. Darkness is what lets melatonin rise, so a full blackout helps you fall asleep faster and wake less, day or night.

03

Adjustable, No Pinch, No Crease

A soft, fully adjustable band fits any head size and will not dig in behind the ears or leave a morning crease. Set it once and it holds all night, with no slipping and no marks.

04

A Fit for Every Sleeper

Choose flat and featherlight, a 3D contour that never touches your lashes, a weighted mask that calms with gentle pressure, or an oversized cut for maximum darkness. One silk, many fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Silk Sleep Masks

Which Sensoire silk eye mask should I choose?

Choose the Classic flat mask for lightweight, packable value; the 3D Contour for zero eye pressure and lash protection; the Weighted mask for a calming, grounded feel; and an oversized cut for side sleeping and maximum darkness. Every option is 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

What is the difference between a 3D and a flat silk eye mask?

A flat mask lies directly on the eyes; it is light, packable and great value. A 3D contour mask has moulded cups that arch over the eyes, so nothing touches your lids or lashes. Choose flat for travel and simplicity, 3D if you wear lash extensions or dislike eye pressure.

Which silk sleep mask is best for side sleepers?

The Oversized or the Full Coverage 3D. Both have a wider wraparound cut that helps keep the edge closed when the pillow presses against one side of your face, and a U-shaped nose bridge that closes the gap underneath. Both also cover the ears with soft padding, so the ear on the pillow side rests on cushioning rather than a bare strap. Choose the Oversized for a softer, lower profile against the pillow, since it has no moulded cups. Choose the Full Coverage 3D if you also want room over your eyes for natural lashes or extensions: its moulded cups hold their shape over the eyes, and its cushioned structure helps the mask stay in place when you sleep on your side.

Will light still get in around my nose or at the sides?

Very little, once the mask is in place. The nose bridge is where most light slips in, so the Full Coverage 3D, Oversized and Weighted masks have a U-shaped nose contour that sits close to the face and closes the gap from below, with a wider cut that covers the sides. Settle the mask so its lower edge rests on your cheekbones, then tighten the band just enough to hold it there. Darker shades help too: black and navy reflect less of any light that does reach the edge.

Will the sleep mask slip off during the night?

Rarely, once the strap is set correctly. Most slipping comes from a band left too loose. Adjust it so it sits flat just below the crown of your head, with room to slide one finger underneath. Shape matters too: a flat mask is the lightest and the quickest to shift, while the 3D contour, oversized and weighted cuts rest against more of the face and hold their position better for restless sleepers.

Will the strap give me a headache or leave marks?

It should not, and if it does, the strap is too tight. Set the band so it feels secure but never gripping: you should be able to slide one finger between the strap and your head, and there should be no mark left in the morning. If you feel pressure at the temples, loosen it slightly and move the band a little lower on the back of the head, away from the tops of the ears. Silk itself weighs almost nothing, so it is tension in the strap, not the mask, that causes discomfort. Every Sensoire mask is adjustable: the Classic Flat and Ultimate Comfort 3D use an elastic strap, while the Full Coverage 3D, Oversized and Weighted masks use hook and loop tape, so the fit can be set in small increments.

Do silk eye masks really work for sleep?

Yes. By blocking light they let melatonin rise, the hormone that brings on sleep, so you fall asleep faster and wake less, even in daylight or on a flight. This is why many people use them for insomnia and shift work. Sensoire uses 100% mulberry silk for a soft, breathable blackout.

Are there downsides to wearing an eye mask every night?

Few, if the mask fits well. Cheap masks can press the eyes, tug lashes, leave strap marks or trap heat. Silk avoids most of this: it is breathable, gentle on skin and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. A 3D contour removes eye pressure entirely. Just wash it regularly to keep it hygienic.

Will a silk eye mask damage my eyelashes or lash extensions?

A flat mask can press and rub lashes overnight. A 3D contour mask is built to prevent this; its raised cups leave space so lashes and extensions are not crushed or pulled. For lash extensions, the Ultimate Comfort 3D and Full Coverage 3D masks are the safest choices.

Are weighted eye masks good for sleep and anxiety?

Many people find them calming. A weighted silk mask adds gentle, even pressure around the eyes and temples, which can help the body relax and settle, much like a weighted blanket. Choose it for a soothing, grounded feel; choose the 3D contour if you prefer zero pressure on the eyes.

Does a silk eye mask do anything for my skin?

Mostly indirectly. Its real job is blocking light so you sleep well, and silk adds comfort: the surface glides instead of dragging when you turn, and it tends to absorb less of your eye cream than cotton, so more of it stays on your skin. Because the mask rests on the same skin every night, it also gathers oil and product, so let night cream sink in for a few minutes before you put it on, and keep the mask clean with a weekly wash if you wear it nightly.

Will a silk eye mask feel hot or make my eyes sweat?

Usually not. Silk breathes well, so a silk mask tends to feel cooler against the skin than polyester or foam-padded styles. How warm it feels depends largely on how much of your face it covers. If you run warm, the Classic Flat is the lightest choice, and the Ultimate Comfort 3D is the lighter of the two 3D masks. The Oversized and Weighted masks cover more of the face and ears, so they feel cosier, which suits cooler rooms and winter nights.

Is a Sensoire eye mask real silk?

Yes. Both faces of every Sensoire mask are 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk at 19 momme, certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and the strap is covered in silk too. Satin is a weave, not a fibre, and satin masks are very often polyester, which looks glassier and holds more warmth against the skin. A real silk label names the fibre, the grade and the momme weight. Inside is a soft silk floss fill; the 3D styles add moulded cups that hold their shape over the eyes, and the Weighted mask adds free moving beads.

How often should a silk sleep mask be washed?

Every one to two weeks with regular use. Wash it at least once a week if you wear it every night, sleep in it during the day after a shift, or apply night cream before bed. It rests against the same skin as your pillowcase and collects the same oils and product residue, so keeping a second mask in rotation makes it easy to always have a clean one to hand.

Can a silk sleep mask be machine washed?

Yes, though hand washing remains our recommendation. If you use a machine, place the mask in a mesh laundry bag, choose the delicate or silk programme at 30°C or below, and use a mild pH-neutral detergent. Skip bleach, fabric softener and the tumble dryer, then reshape the mask and line dry it away from direct sunlight. Hand washing in cool water is gentler on both the fibre and the strap, and it keeps the silk surface smooth for longer. The one exception is the Weighted Silk Eye Mask, which holds free moving beads and should be hand washed only.

How should I dry and store a silk eye mask?

Gently, and away from heat. After washing, press the water out in a towel instead of wringing, reshape the mask with your fingers and let it dry in the shade, away from radiators and direct sun. The Weighted mask should always be dried lying flat. Store your mask flat or loosely folded in a drawer rather than crushed at the bottom of a bag, so the 3D cups keep their shape, and keep the hook and loop tab closed so it cannot catch on other fabrics.

Will the strap catch my hair or stretch out over time?

It should not catch your hair. The band is wide and covered in silk, so no bare elastic rubs against it, and on the masks with hook and loop tape the fastening is a small tab on a much wider band, which keeps the hooks away from your hair. Every mask is fully stitched, with no glued seams or glued cups to come apart, so the strap is the part that needs the most care. Keep it away from heat and strain: close the tab before washing, skip hot water, wringing and the tumble dryer, and do not stretch the band wider than you need when you put the mask on.

Is a silk eye mask a good gift?

It is one of the easiest silk gifts to get right. The strap adjusts, so there is no size to guess, and a silk mask is the kind of small luxury many people would not buy for themselves. For a fuller gift, the leopard and zebra masks come boxed with a matching silk scrunchie, and our pillowcase and bonnet gift sets add a silk eye mask and scrunchie to a pillowcase or a bonnet, all in one box. The pillowcase set can also be monogrammed with a name or initials. Black and navy suit almost everyone, and the Classic Flat and Ultimate Comfort 3D also come in pink.
