Tested for harmful substances

OEKO-TEX® Certified

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the best known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. Every component of an article is tested, not only the cloth but also the sewing thread, the zip, the elastic and the woven and printed labels. The testing is carried out by independent OEKO-TEX® institutes against a criteria catalogue that is reviewed every year.

Sensoire textiles are certified to STANDARD 100 in product class I, the class the standard reserves for articles made for babies and toddlers, which applies the strictest limit values of all four classes. The number printed on the label sewn into your bedding is SH015 195970. The current certificate runs to 15 January 2027, and you can check it yourself below.

Why it matters

Three Things To Know

01

The whole article, not the cloth

STANDARD 100 tests every component that makes up the finished piece. Threads, zips, elastic and labels are tested alongside the fabric, because those are the parts that sit closest to the skin all night.

02

Product class I

The standard has four product classes. Class I is written for articles that babies and toddlers come into contact with, and it holds the tightest limit values. Our textiles are certified in that class.

03

Checked, not claimed

A certificate number is only worth something if you can look it up. Ours is printed on the product label and published here, so the claim can be verified at source rather than taken on trust.

Said plainly

What The Label Does Not Cover

STANDARD 100 is a test for harmful substances in the finished textile. It is not an organic certification, and it says nothing about farming methods, water use or working conditions. Those belong to separate schemes with separate labels, and no single label covers everything.

A certificate also covers the articles named on it and nothing beyond them, which is why each fibre line carries its own. We think the difference is worth stating rather than blurring. If you want the longer version, we wrote about how these labels differ in organic versus natural bedding.

Questions

OEKO-TEX® And Sensoire

What does OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 mean?

It means every component of the finished article has been tested for harmful substances by an independent OEKO-TEX® institute, against a criteria catalogue updated each year. The test covers the fabric and also the sewing thread, zips, elastic and labels. Certificates are issued for a fixed period and must be renewed.

Is Sensoire bedding OEKO-TEX® certified?

Yes. Sensoire textiles are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 in product class I, the strictest of the four classes. The certificate number printed on the label sewn into the product is SH015 195970, issued by TESTEX and valid to 15 January 2027, and it can be checked on the OEKO-TEX® website.

What is OEKO-TEX® product class I?

STANDARD 100 sorts articles into four product classes by how much skin contact they have. Class I is the strictest. It is written for textiles for babies and toddlers up to three years old and applies the tightest limit values of the four. Sensoire textiles are certified in class I.

Where do I find the OEKO-TEX® certificate number?

It is printed on the label sewn into the product, next to the OEKO-TEX® mark, and it is published on this page: SH015 195970. Type it into the OEKO-TEX® label check and the certificate opens with its label type, annex, product class and current status.

Is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 the same as organic or GOTS?

No. STANDARD 100 tests the finished textile for harmful substances. GOTS certifies organic fibre content along with environmental and social criteria through the supply chain. A product can hold one, both or neither. They answer different questions and neither replaces the other.

How do I check an OEKO-TEX® certificate myself?

Go to the OEKO-TEX® label check, type the number exactly as printed on the label, and the certificate appears with its label type, product class and status. If a number returns nothing, the certificate does not exist or has been withdrawn. Ours returns a valid STANDARD 100 certificate.

Which products does the certificate cover?

A certificate covers the articles named on it. This one names flat sheets, fitted sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, eye masks, sleep caps and scrunchies, together with the padding inside them and the parts sewn in, meaning the sewing thread, zips, elastic and labels. The full scope is printed on the certificate, which opens when you scan the code on this page.
